Autocare provides shore-to-door automotive logistic services for OEMs, car dealers, car rental providers, and car leasing companies. Autocare handles over 1,000,000 vehicle movements, processes over 600,000 vehicles, and stores up to 80,000 vehicles per annum and has seven major depots in each state.
Pipe Infrastructure Capabilities
Autocare’s 45,000m2 (floor area) depot near the Port of Brisbane required a compressed air reticulation system for the workshop. The workshop required 220 workstations: each with access to a compressed air outlet containing a retractable hose reel for compressed air tools used for mechanical work and panel work. The solution was Allmach’s Maxair compressed air piping, fittings and hose reels for the installation. The system provides a robust, thick-walled, easy, safe and fast-to-install system that meets Australian standards for compressed air pipe and fittings.
Challenges and Solutions
The sheer size of the workshop, no existing pipework and a narrow window of time during the installation was a challenge for the contractor. The reticulated compressed air system had to provide sufficient flow and pressure to each of the 220 work stations simultaneously without leaking or failing. Maxair is 75% faster to install than traditional systems as it eliminates pipe threading, flaring or gluing. Such was the success, Allmach has completed three other similar installations for Autocare.
